INTERNATIONAL ECONOMICS
The required text for this course is Yarbrough and Yarbrough, The World Economy: Trade and Finance, 5th edition. The Wall Street Journal is recommended. There will be two hour tests, a quiz, a paper, and a final examination.

Course Objective: A deeper understanding of international trade and finance.
Course Requirements: Two hour tests (100 points each), one quiz (50 points), one 8-10 page paper (100 points), Final examination (150 points) for a TOTAL of 500 points.
Grade Ranges: >95%=A+; 92.5%-95%=A; 90%-92.5%=A-; 87.5%-90%=B+; 82.5%-87.5%=B; 80%-82.5%=B-; 77.5%-80%=C+; 72.5-77.5%=C; 70%-72.5%=C-; etc. Class participation will count in borderline cases..
Examinations: Hour tests are tentatively scheduled for 9/18 and 10/16. Tests will be composed of short answer, analysis, and short essay questions. The final examination will cover chapters 15-20 (excluding 19).
Paper: Each student will write a paper and turn it in by 12/ 4/00. Subjects will be discussed in class. Prior approval of topics is recommended. Late papers will be penalized one full letter grade per calendar day. Papers cannot be submitted for any other course without prior approval of both instructors.
Make Up Policy: If you miss a quiz or test you will receive a zero unless you have provided advance notification and received approval for a makeup, or you have a medical or family emergency, and provide documentation.
Atendance: Attendance will be taken periodically. More than 2 recorded unexcused absences may result in the application of Section 701 (d) of Undergraduate Academic Regulations. For valid excuses, see Make Up Policy, above. If you are unable to attend class, however, it is your responsibility to find out from other students what was covered that day. Do NOT ask me for this information.
