Using the Library

Miami University’s libraries give you access to hundreds of thousands of books, periodicals, and other resources covering just about every topic imaginable. The Virtual Classroom’s Library does basically the same thing--with two main differences.

First, the resources available in the Virtual Classroom’s Library are located in cyberspace. Rather than going over to King Library to check out a book on economic history by Doug North, you might end up at up the University of Chicago reviewing his upcoming paper on that subject. And if you don’t like it, you can tell him so through e-mail!

Second, our library filters the content and narrows the focus just a bit to help you avoid "information overload." Key categories of information available include

Think of these categories as a convenient starting point for your exploration of economics on the Internet. And there’s lots of information out there, so head to the library and start surfing the web!

To use The Library’s resources,

  1. Click The Library’s icon on the Main Menu--or click the highlighted link near the beginning of this sentence.
    The Library will appear, with this document on the left side of the screen and an outline of the available resources on the right side.
  2. From the outline on the right side of the screen, select the resource you would like to use. Available options will be underlined and highlighted using a different text color.
