Using the Bulletin Board

The bulletin board is a way for you to participate in a discussion with the rest of the class anytime of day, anyplace that has an internet connection. If you click on the section in which you are registered, the table of contents of the bulletin board will come up on the left side of your screen. The subject of each of the messages posted to the bulletin board will be listed in the table of contents. If you click on the subject, the whole message will be displayed in the window. You can read the message and then

• return to the table of contents by clicking on the name of the bulletin board at the bottom of the page
• reply to the message by typing in your respoonse at the bottom of the page of the message and clicking on the phrase "Post Follow-Up" at the top of the page
  (note: when you reply, your message will be "threaded." This means that it will be placed below the message to which you are replying. That way you can follow whole conversations!)
• post an entirely new message by clicking on the phrase "Post Message"

When you are creating a message, be sure to enter your name and type your message in the large box. Then click on the "Post Message" button at the bottom of the page. If you make a mistake, you can edit it or click on the "Reset" button on the bottom of the page. This will clear the whole page.
