Using the Classroom
The Classroom portion of this
web site helps you access the resources and information you would normally find in a
physical classroom. Resources currently available include
- Using the Classroom. This help document.

- Exam Schedule. The schedule explains when and where the courses
exams will take place.

- Presentations. The presentations summarize key concepts for each major
unit of the course. By design, these sections of ECO201 are not lecture-based. However, if
they were, these are the similar to the presentations (actually the "overheads"
or "slides" from them) that the instructor would deliver in class for each unit.
There is no sound for these presentations, only the graphic slides. Note that these
presentations are different from the ones on the videotapes. They are designed to present
the material in a slightly different way.

You can view the presentations graphically on the Web, textually on the Web, or as
Microsoft PowerPoint 4.0 presentations downloaded to your computer. See Viewing
Presentations for more information.

- Videos. The instructor has created three video tapes containing
"lectures" on the course material. These lectures are not mandatory; all the
material they contain also appears in the book. Rather, the lectures supplement the
material in the book and help explain concepts from the book that might be confusing.

Currently, it would be inefficient to deliver full video lectures over the Internet.
Therefore, the videos will be shown once a week over the campus cable stations and are
available for viewing, copying, or checking out at different locations on campus. See Videos Available and Obtaining Videos for more information.

- Quizzes. The quizzes can help you "self test" your
understanding of each units key concepts and facts. For example, when preparing for
classroom discussions, activities, or exams, you might take the appropriate quiz (or
quizzes) to review the material. We are still developing the on-line
quizzes, so this feature is not yet functional.

All quizzes are for self-test purposes only. Therefore, how well you do (or dont do)
on them will not affect your grade. See Taking
Quizzes for more information.
