Constraint Management Interactive Model

The Constraint Management Interactive Model is presented in Chapter 17, on page 607. It also provides the interactive simulation for Interactive Analysis 17.1 on page 615. It simulates a constraint management environment by allowing the user to experiment with buffers and constraints. In this simulator, for each work center, you can set the processing rate and the initial inventory level by adjusting the corresponding sliding bar, and the rate variability and the breakdown severity can be selected from items on the corresponding pull-down list, and the utilization is given accordingly. When you pause or stop the simulation, the average inventory and total number of breakdowns for each work center are be given. You can also choose the simulation speed from three options: slow, normal and fast.
