Graduate Student Policy.

In addition to the policies that apply to graduate students at Miami (as described in University Handbook for Graduate Students and Faculty), the Economics Department has approved the following.

1. To graduate, students must earn a 3.0 GPA in the 25 credit hours of required course work during the fall and spring semesters. With prior approval of the Director of Graduate Studies, up to six additional hours of graduate work may be included in the GPA calculation. ECO690 (Master's Research) is not included in calculation of the GPA.

2. To be eligible for a graduate assistantship, a student must be enrolled in all of the M.A. economics curriculum during the Fall and Spring semesters unless the Director of Graduate Studies gives written permission to do otherwise.

3. At the end of each academic year, the faculty will be asked to provide performance evaluations of their graduate assistants to the Director of Graduate Studies. Each student will receive a copy of his/her performance evaluation (s).
