Most are modified graduate assistantships which provide a stipend of $3,511 covering the fall and spring semesters, a $1,600 graduate summer scholarship for the summer sessions, plus remission of the instructional fee and the out-of-state tuition fee for one full year. A limited number of half-time graduate assistantships provide a stipend of $7,248, plus the summer fellowship and fee waivers. Graduate assistants are required to pay a $480 general fee each term. For out-of-state students, the value of a modified graduate assistantship is $16,400. All figures are for the 2000-2001 academic year and are subject to change.
Modified graduate assistants are required to work 8 hours per week and must enroll for a minimum of 12 graduate hours per semester. Half-time graduate assistants work 18 hours per week and must enroll for a minimum of 10 graduate hours per semester. Some graduate assistants are assigned to work in the dean's office or in one of the research centers within the Richard T. Farmer School of Business Administration.

The duties of the MAE graduate assistants are the same as half-time graduate assistants.
