I am originally from the Cleveland, Ohio area, where I attended Holy Name High School in Parma Heights, Ohio. I spent my freshman undergraduate year at Kent State University. I transferred to Baldwin-Wallace College in my sophomore year, with a finance concentration and a computer science minor. I obtained both an M.A. and a Ph.D. at The Ohio State University with a major in Finance, and a minor in Economics. In addition to my current position, I have served on the faculties of the University of Cincinnati (assistant professor) and The Ohio State University (visiting assistant professor).

I currently reside in Loveland Ohio - a suburb of Cincinnati. I conduct research in finance in topics related to board of director efficiency, managerial compensation, dividends, anti-takeover devices, and other issues related to agency costs. My publications have appeared in the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Research, and The Financial Review (among others). My vita provides a complete list of my publications, working papers, presentations, and work-in-progress.
